== Woodhey High School - Building work update Sept 2007 ==

Early December 2007 finds us three months into the 59 week programme of refurbishment and new build at Woodhey, and still on target - despite the weather turning wetter and colder! There is visible building progress on blocks A,C and D and the next major exercise will involve the temporary decant of the administrative block (including the staff room, the Head and Assistant Heads’ offices) to allow refurbishment and the building of a new main entrance.

Round about Easter time, we have scheduled to close the current dining facility so that Kier can crack on with the development of a super new dining room which will be available from September 2008. We are currently working with all the relevant project staff to arrange temporary dining facilities whilst this part of the new-build is in progress. The temporary facility will offer a reduced choice of food, but we will ensure that all our students are able to access food and drink at break times as usual. Apart from a mobile unit housing the servery, we also plan to provide a temporary seating area so that the children can relax and socialise during breaks. The school will, of course, keep parents/carers informed of the detail of the changes to the dining provision nearer the time, enabling those of you who may prefer to make alternative arrangements for your child(ren) if you wish. For information, the new dining room will operate via a state-of-the-art biometric cashless system – information on that new facility in due course.
