== Woodhey High School - TCF building work ==

Background

Woodhey High School has been successful in bidding through Bury Local Authority for Targeted Capital Funding. This Government money (£7.5M) will enable us to build new facilities, enlarge classrooms, renew tired areas and refurbish most of the school. The process of planning the improvements has started and the works are likely to continue until August 2008.
The project steering group consists of governors, senior staff, LA representatives and architects Cruickshank and Seward with Adrian Simmons from E C Harris acting as Project Manager.
There are a number of phases to the project and they will be outlined here in due course when plans are firmed up and planning permission has been received.
There are obviously a large number of issues associated with a major building and refurbishment programme such as this. The safety and continued learning of our pupils will be the first priority throughout the works and we will endeavour to keep all parents and carers informed through letters home and this web site.
