WOODHEY HIGH SCHOOL - BOYS UNIFORM - SUMMER 2008

Blazer:  

Maroon, polyester blazer with school badge on breast pocket from approved school uniform suppliers.
Shirt: White, straight-collared (standard fit, no soft collar). In summer, short-sleeve version will be permitted.
Tie:    Maroon with woven crest.
Trousers: Charcoal grey, plain trousers.  Plain or pleated front.
Sweater: The wearing of this garment is optional.  If worn, it should be a maroon 60%  wool 40% nylon v-necked sweater to retain its
smart appearance and wearability e.g. Trutex.
Socks: Plain Mid – grey, charcoal or black socks.
No white socks to be worn, apart from PE/Games.
Shoes: Black, sensible school shoes without badges, coloured bands or coloured laces. No boots or trainers to be worn.
Outer Coat:  Optional.  If worn, it should be plain and dark in colour, and should cover the blazer.
   
Sportswear:  
Indoor: White pumps/trainers and white ankle socks; White shorts.
White polo shirt with school badge (available only from Cockers Sports, order through school).
Outdoor: Maroon rugby/soccer jersey with school badge (available only from Cockers Sports, order through school). Football or rugby boots; School football socks – black with maroon tops; Black shorts;
In the interest of hygiene, all boys must bring either swimming
trunks or a change of underwear to each P.E. and Games lesson; a towel is also essential.
Waterproof jackets, sweatshirts, tracksuit tops and fleeces optional
(available only from Cockers Sports, order through school).
Practical Work   An apron for practical work in workshops is required.
Geometry Set: Containing ruler, pencil, compass, protractor and eraser.

Uniform supplied by these suppliers has been checked by the school and is of the correct style and colour, of good quality and is available all year round.  Prices vary.

Garments from other clothing supplies may be used, but the style and colour must be identical.  Experience shows that quality is variable.

The school operates a second-hand uniform shop; details on the school web site or the school office.  Parents who have genuine financial difficulty in obtaining uniform should contact the Headteacher.

Blouse: Pink/white check rever neck blouse, short sleeves from suppliers.
Trousers: Black, bootleg design (pocket stripe optional).
Sweater: The wearing of this garment is optional.  If worn, it should be a maroon 60% wool 40% nylon v-necked sweater to retain its smart
appearance and wearability e.g. Trutex.
Socks: Plain black (or opaque black tights).
Shoes: Black, sensible flat school shoes without badges, coloured bands
or coloured laces.  No platform shoes or boots, or trainers.  No backless slip-on shoes/canvas shoes.
Flat shoes are required for reasons of safety.
Outer Coat: Optional.  If worn, it should be plain and dark in colour, and should cover the blazer.
Sportswear

Maroon sports shorts with (optional) matching pleated trutex maroon skirt White Polo shirt with school badge – available only from Cocker Sports (order through school).
White pumps/trainers and white sports socks;
Hockey socks (black with maroon tops).
Sweatshirts are optional but they must be obtained from school from the P.E. Department.
