Overview
“Without music, life would be a mistake.” Friedrich Nietzsche
Music plays an important role in the everyday life of Woodhey High School. Performances by pupils are central to the school with students performing at school concerts, open evenings, presentation events and out of school at a variety of events and venues.
Ensembles at the school are of outstanding quality. The school is proud of its orchestra, choir, brass and guitar groups, to name but a few. The ensembles are underpinned by a network of peripatetic tutors as well as the department’s two main music specialists. Our ensembles are often used to play at public events away from the school and always represent Woodhey High School admirably.
There are plenty of extra-curricular activities in this thriving department. Practice rooms are available most lunch-times for students to utilise.
