We are delighted to share that we have been designated as an AllergyWise school!

The team at Woodhey have worked tirelessly to ensure that students are safe across all areas of school, with safeguarding being our number one priority. The accreditation, overseen by Anaphylaxis UK (Anaphylaxis UK | Supporting people with serious allergies | Anaphylaxis UK) is a rigorous process that ensures schools and organisations have strong practices in place to support students with allergies.

The accreditation recognises the steps that the school have taken to training staff to recognise and manage allergies, and the staff trained to administer EpiPens in the event of an anaphylactic shock, with ten staff being trained across school. It recognises the work the school has done to educate students about allergies and the strong practices that it has in place to manage allergies.

Mr Watson, Headteacher, upon receiving notification of the award said: ‘Keeping our students safe is of paramount importance, and we are delighted that this award recognises the lengths we go to in order to keep our community safe.’
