We celebrated the sporting efforts and achievements of our young athletes and performers at our annual Sports Awards Evening.
This year, we were delighted to welcome world champion inline skater Jenna Downing to speak at our annual Sports Awards Evening. Jenna is a mulitple British champion, European champion and X games silver medallist. She is also a best-selling author, mentor and skating coach. Throughout her speech, Jenna reinforced our two school values of respect and excellence, speaking to our students about what it means to have a champion mindset, not being afraid to dream big, being prepared to work hard and staying focussed on the goal. Jenna was inspirational in the way she spoke and the messages she delivered and we are truly grateful for her support.
In addition to Jenna's talk, we enjoyed a fantastic dance performance from Miss Gaffney's Year 11 class and awarded students with their Sports Colours. Sports Colours are given in recognition of the commitment, resilience and positive attitude of all our students who have represented the school in a sporting activity or been given an Athlete of the Month award by their PE teacher. Prizes were also given out for our Team of the Year from last year, the Year 7 and 8 Girls' Football Team, and our MVPs (Most Valued Performer).
It was great to see so many of our students, parents and carers attend the evening. We would like to thank everyone for coming along to support it and also for helping us to provide so many opportunities for our students to participate in physical activity and sport. A true team effort!
