On Thursday 25th June, Woodhey High School’s Year 11 students came together for a memorable evening of celebration at the beautiful Last Drop Village Hotel and Spa as they marked the end of their five-year journey at #TeamWoodhey.
The annual Leavers’ Prom provided the perfect opportunity for students to reflect on their time at school, celebrate their achievements and enjoy one final evening together before embarking on the next stage of their education, training and careers.
Students arrived in spectacular style, creating an unforgettable start to the evening. A dazzling array of vehicles pulled up outside the venue, including sports cars, tractors, party buses and an army jeep. Two students made particularly memorable entrances, arriving on horseback to the delight of staff, students and families gathered to watch the arrivals. The impressive range of transport on display ensured there was plenty of excitement before the celebrations had even begun.
Inside the venue, students enjoyed an evening filled with laughter, dancing and celebration. Friends reminisced about the memories they had made throughout their time at Woodhey, while staff enjoyed catching up with students and sharing stories from the past five years. The dance floor remained busy throughout the evening as students celebrated the end of their GCSE examinations and the friendships they have built during their time at school.
The prom was a fitting celebration of a year group who have shown resilience, determination and commitment throughout their studies. Having completed their GCSE examinations, students were able to relax and enjoy a well-deserved evening with their peers and teachers.
Mr Watson, Headteacher, said:
“The Year 11 Prom was a fantastic evening and a wonderful celebration of what has been a superb five years for this year group. It was great to see our students enjoying themselves, sharing memories with friends and staff, and arriving in such spectacular fashion. We are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved during their time at Woodhey and wish them the very best of luck for the future. We are now looking forward to welcoming them back for GCSE Results Day in August and celebrating their successes with them.”
We would like to thank all staff, families and the team at Last Drop Village Hotel and Spa for helping to make the evening such a success.
Everyone at Woodhey High School wishes our Year 11 students every success for the future, and we look forward to celebrating with them again on GCSE Results Day in August.
